---------------

Mr. Flynn awoke with a start to a veil of thick darkness and rain that felt like needles on his face.

'Must've dozed off,' he thought.

It had grown both darker and colder since he last was awake and it was eerily quiet if not for the infrequent hallowing of the wind. He wrapped his coat tighter around himself and rearranged his grip on the fishing rod. Rain smattered against the weathered brim of his hackneyed hat as he sat and watched the fishing line dance in the cold moonlight. He followed it with his gaze for a while as it weaved and jumped through the rain until he saw a tiny light flickering on and off from across the dark and murky sea, and the shadowy outline of a wooden cottage.

The light made him uneasy, always had, but his gaze was still drawn to it like a moth to a flame. His sanity kept telling him that it was a trick played on his mind, that it was only reflected moonlight that fluttered in the night, but the words did not bring him any peace; they could not alter the fact that the cottage was abandoned and had been for several years.

'Perhaps I'd better head home,' he thought. 'I ain't gonna' get much fish anyway.'

Incredible, composition.
The rain: is that a motion blur on dots/ all hand drawn/ or a brush?
